We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced MYP English and Humanities Teacher to join our educational community. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for both language and the social sciences, fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework.

The teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering an integrated curriculum that promotes critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and a deep understanding of both literary and societal contexts.

Key Responsibilities:

• • Develop and implement engaging MYP English Language and Literature and Humanities curricula aligned with IB standards.
  • Foster a student-centered learning environment that encourages critical analysis, effective communication, and global awareness.
  • Integrate historical, geographical, and social science perspectives into English language studies and vice versa.
  • Incorporate the IB Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills into all aspects of instruction.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methodologies, including inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, and collaborative activities.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, including written work, presentations, and projects.
  • Collaborate with other MYP teachers to develop interdisciplinary units of study.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
  • Actively participate in school events and contribute to the school community.
  • Ensure that all school safeguarding policies are upheld.

Requirements

Education

• • Bachelor’s degree in English, History, Geography, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification/license.
  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred.

Experience

• • Proven experience teaching English and/or Humanities at the middle school level.
  • Experience with the IB MYP framework is highly desirable.
  • Experience in an international school environment is a plus.

• • Strong knowledge of English language and literature, as well as historical, geographical, and social science concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
