The MYP Science Teacher will be responsible for fostering a comprehensive understanding of scientific principles within students aged 11-12, aligning with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework. This role involves the development and delivery of rigorous and engaging lessons across the disciplines of biology, chemistry, and physics. The teacher will cultivate an inquiry-based learning environment, promoting critical thinking and analytical skills through practical experimentation and theoretical exploration. The successful candidate will facilitate student-centered learning, ensuring that each student achieves their full potential in scientific literacy.
Key Responsibilities:

- Create and deliver engaging and interactive science lessons that follow the MYP 1 curriculum.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, like experiments, discussions, and projects, to make learning fun.
- Adapt lessons to meet the different learning needs of all students.
- Establish a safe and supportive classroom where students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas.
- Encourage students to work together and learn from each other.
- Help students develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Assess student learning through tests, projects, and class participation.
- Provide clear and helpful feedback to students to help them improve.
- Keep accurate records of student progress.
- Work with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning experience for students.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress.
- Participate in school meetings and professional development.
- Ensure all safety proceedures are followed during lab experiments.
- Instruct students on the proper use of lab equipment.
Requirements
Education

- A bachelor’s degree in pharmacy
- A teaching certification or license is preferred.
Experience
-
- Proven experience teaching Science at the middle school level.
- Experience with the IB MYP framework is highly desirable.
- Experience in an international school environment.
