The MYP Biology Teacher will be responsible for cultivating a deep understanding of life sciences among students aged 13–15, in alignment with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework. This role involves designing and delivering engaging lessons that explore the diversity of living organisms, ecosystems, genetics, and the human body. The teacher will foster curiosity, analytical thinking, and environmental awareness through inquiry-based learning, practical experimentation, and scientific investigation. The successful candidate will nurture student engagement and ensure the development of essential scientific skills and attitudes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver concept-based, inquiry-driven Biology lessons aligned with the MYP 1–3 curriculum.
- Integrate Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, global contexts, and interdisciplinary connections into units.
- Guide students in safe, hands-on experiments and scientific investigations.
- Assess student learning using MYP criteria and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Encourage reflection, curiosity, and responsible action related to biological and environmental topics.
- Collaborate with the Science team to ensure vertical alignment and coherence across grade levels.
- Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to the ongoing growth of the MYP programme.

Requirements
Education

- A bachelor’s degree in medicine
- CAT1 Certificate in Science is a plus
Experience
-

3+ Years experience teaching Biology at the secondary school level.
- 1+ Years experience teaching Science or Biology at the MYP
