Role Overview
We are seeking a creative and flexible German Language Teacher who can create a positive and engaging learning environment that supports students’ academic progress and personal development. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with students, motivate them to achieve their potential, and contribute to a collaborative school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging German lessons for lower secondary students
- Develop curriculum maps, and monthly and weekly plans in line with the scheme of work and school calendar
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, and resources
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual students and small groups
- Assess and monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and support preparation for assessments
- Mark and correct classwork, homework, and examinations
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that supports learning and student engagement
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and wellbeing
- Participate in school events, trips, and activities
- Attend meetings, assemblies, and carry out supervision duties (including break and line organization)
- Invigilate assessments and examinations
- Engage in ongoing professional development
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching German at lower secondary level
- Good command of English
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Very good IT skills and ability to use educational technology
- Organized, proactive, and adaptable
