Role Overview
We are seeking a MYP Mathematics Teacher to build a strong foundation in mathematical thinking for students aged 11–14. The role focuses on delivering concept-based, inquiry-driven learning aligned with the IB MYP framework, helping students develop logical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation of mathematics as a tool for understanding the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, concept-based Mathematics lessons for MYP 1–3
- Design inquiry-driven learning experiences that promote problem-solving and collaboration
- Integrate Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills and global contexts
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Assess using MYP criteria and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Foster student confidence and a positive attitude toward Mathematics
- Collaborate with the Mathematics and wider MYP team for vertical alignment
- Contribute to curriculum development and the school’s MYP implementation
- Engage in ongoing professional development
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering preferred)
- IB MYP recognised certificate in Mathematics is an advantage
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching Mathematics at middle school level
- At least 1 year experience in MYP is preferred
Skills and abilities
- Strong understanding of MYP philosophy and assessment practices
- Ability to design inquiry-based lessons that promote conceptual understanding
- Effective classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction and support varied learners
- Proficiency in educational technology and digital math tools
